Letters sent to Lelia D. Cilley (married name Rowell) of Kingston, N.H., from friends and relatives, including H.S. Cilley and Mamie Huntington. Also included is a letter from Ambrose E. Rowell of the 3rd Regiment, New Hampshire Volunteers, to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Addison S. Rowell of Exeter, N.H. Rowell briefly describes the capture by Union forces of Confederate defenses on Morris Island outside Charleston, S.C., in 1863.
